Mrs. Edna Ruth Linebaugh Steele, 76, of Asheboro, NC, died Friday, June 6, 2014, at Randolph Hospital. A graveside service is scheduled for 3:00 pm Sunday, June 8, 2014, at Liberty Road Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Don Ashley officiating. A native of Greene County, TN, Mrs. Steele was born September 6, 1937. She was the oldest of six children of the late George Thomas Linebaugh and Artie Elizabeth Moore Linebaugh. She was a homemaker and a member of Liberty Road Baptist Church. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by son, Johnny Ray Stanberry; sisters, Ruby McClain, Ilene Scalf; and brother, Earl Linebaugh. Mrs. Steele is survived by her daughter, Julie Snider and husband, Chris, of the home; sisters, Irene Greer, of Gray, TN, Edith Palmer, of Kingsport, TN; grandchildren, Stephen Stanberry, Brittany Stanberry, William Bowland, Jennifer Watson, Brian Bowland, Elizabeth Wells; and seven great grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to Liberty Road Baptist Church, 2179 W.O.W. Road, Randleman, NC 27317.
