Ruth Kiser Scott, 92, of Seagrove, died Thursday, January 28, 2021 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 5, 2021, at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Brian Faircloth and Rev. Bryan Maness officiating. Ruth was born on February 23, 1928, in Randolph County. Mrs. Scott was retired from Acme McCrary Hosiery in Asheboro. She loved working in her garden, canning vegetables, sewing, and keeping her grandchildren. She attended Antioch Christian Church in Seagrove. Ruth loved keeping her mind sharp by doing all sorts of number and word puzzles. She was a prayer warrior, a good friend, and a helpful neighbor to all those she held dear. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Scott; her parents, Collie and Berta Kiser; and her siblings, John D. Kiser and Jane Gatlin. Mrs. Scott is survived by her daughters, Myra Brown and husband Thomas of Seagrove, Lisa Hunt and husband Stacey of Robbins; son, Barry Scott and wife Carol of Asheboro; sister, Donzy O'Dell of Columbus, GA; grandchildren, Jared Byrd, Braylen Brown, and Colby Brown all of Seagrove, Jacob Byrd of Randleman, Julie Parks and Angie McMasters of Asheboro; great grandchildren, Andrew McMasters, Ashley Robinson, Amy McMasters Avery, Harper Byrd, Carter Layne Brown; and great great grandchildren, Jaxson McMasters, Waylen McMasters, Isabella McMasters, and Silas Luther. Mrs. Scott will lie in state from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 5, 2021, at Ridge Funeral Home prior to the service.
