Ruby Jean Cox Rich Needham, 86, of Asheboro, died Monday, December 31, 2018, at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Friday, January 4, 2019, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro, with Pastor Ed Arroyo officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery. Born on October 22, 1932, in Randolph County, NC, Mrs. Needham was the daughter of the late John Grady Cox and Silvia Moore Cox. She worked in various restaurants in Asheboro before becoming the chef at Pinewood Country Club, where she worked for more than 30 years. She enjoyed her job even though it was hard and the hours were long. She enjoyed socializing, doing mission work and feeding the homeless. She loved the beach, cats and dogs, and cooking for her family and friends. She was a breast cancer survivor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Rich and her second husband, Elgin Needham. Surviving are her daughters, Karen Williams (Phillip) of Garner, Scarlett Baughan, of Asheboro; son, Kenneth Rich, of Asheboro; grandchildren, Kelly West (Jeremy Watkins), Aaron Williams (Alicia), Eric Hockett, Brandy Rich (Keith Jones), Josh Rich, English Baughan, Kenneth Rich, Jr. and Tabor Baughan. The family will receive friends from 10:30 until 11:45 a.m., Friday, prior to the service at Ridge Funeral Home.
