Ruby Hunsucker

Ruby Lois Hunsucker, 86, of Asheboro, died Friday, January 23, 2026, at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.

A funeral service will be conducted 3:00 p.m., Friday, January 30, 2026, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, with Charles Reeder officiating. Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery.

Ruby was born on April 26, 1939, in Randolph County. She worked at Rampon for many years and later worked in the cafeteria at Asheboro High School. Ruby retired from Randolph Community College where she worked in the Armadillo Cafe. She loved being outside and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Hunsucker; son, Robbie Hunsucker; mother, Nonnie Coble Fox; sisters, Frances Roberts and Shirley Needham.

Surviving are her daughter, Erika Hunsucker; niece Michele Voncannon and husband Cliff; and nephew, Bo Roberts and wife Robyn.

The family will receive friends from 1:45 until 2:45 p.m.., Friday at Ridge Funeral Home, prior to the service.
