Louise McNeill Elrod

Ruby Louise McNeill Elrod, 74, of Asheboro, died Sunday, January 4, 2026, at Alpine Health and Rehabilitation in Asheboro.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro, with Jason Hulin officiating.

Born on February 3, 1951, in Randolph County, NC, Louise was the daughter of the late Arlie Jefferson NcNeill and Frances Louise Gordon McNeill. She retired from Commonwealth Hosiery and was a homemaker. Louise was a wonderful cook and excellent baker. She loved her dogs and animals, enjoyed shopping, and collecting snowmen and watching it snow. Most of all, Louise loved spending time with her family, whom she loved dearly.

In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell Eugene Elrod; daughter, Amanda Louise McNeill; brother, Ricky Gordon McNeill; sister, Linda Jeanette McNeill; and nephew, Taylor McNeill.

Surviving are her siblings, Lynn McNeill (Grace) of Asheboro, Debra McNeill Hulin (Harold) of Lexington, Sharon McNeill of Asheboro, Terry McNeill of Asheboro; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Ridge Funeral Home.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Alpine Heath and Rehabilitation, especially her nurse, Dolores, for the exceptional care given to Louise.
