Ruby Jean Chapman

Ruby Jean Chapman, 74, of Asheboro, died Monday, June 15, 2015 at Woodland Hill Center in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, June 18, 2015, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Preacher Jimmy Maness officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Gilead United Methodist Church Cemetery. A native of Randolph County, Mrs. Chapman was born July 22, 1940. She was preceded in death by her mother, Martha Laughlin; sister, Ruth Brown; and brother, Floyd Laughlin. Mrs. Chapman is survived by her husband of 57 years, Donald E. Chapman, Sr.; daughters, Tamara C. McCurry , Sherry Fain and husband, Steve; sons, Donnie Chapman, Jr. and wife, Jean, James Chapman, Danny Chapman, Ronnie Chapman and wife, Dawn, Robbie Chapman and wife, Angie; sisters, Cindy L. Rumple and husband, Richard, Susie L. Brown and husband, Donald; brothers, Glenn Laughlin and wife, Pat, Ray Laughlin and wife, Judy, Clifton Laughlin and wife, Cynthia; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 12:00 - 3:00 p.m. Thursday, prior to the service at Ridge Funeral Home.
