Roy Thomas "Tommy" Kearns, 79, of Asheboro, died Sunday, October 30, 2022 at Randolph Health in Asheboro.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 4, 2022, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro, with Pastor Jon Shook officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park.
Born in Randolph County on June 25, 1943, Mr. Kearns was the son of the late Wayne and Leona Davis Kearns. Tommy enjoyed the simple things in life like watching sunrises and sitting on the porch with his wife and drinking coffee. He loved riding dune buggies and motorcycles, watching NASCAR and going to the mountains. He loved his grandchildren and his big sister and best friend for a lifetime, Colleen Allen.
In addition to his parents, Tommy was preceded in death by his first wife Evelyn Jones Kearns, brothers Willie Kearns and Donnie Kearns, sister Joyce Kearns, great grandchildren Hanna Lambert, Katlyn Williams and Lily Whitaker, and his beloved pets, Rocky and Champ.
Survivors include his wife Carol Sue Robbins Kearns of the home; children, Melinda Kearns Jarrell (Lloyd) of Pleasant Garden, Sandy Kearns of Thomasville, Greg Kearns of Asheboro, Clint Lambert, Christopher Hill, Linda Sue Jones; ; sisters, Colleen Allen (Charles) of Denton, Carolyn "Lilly" Kearns of Asheboro; grandchildren, Jamie Robinson, Brandon Robinson, Camryn Kearns, Justin Kearns, Tyler Kearns, Josh Jones, Shalon Caldwell, Adam Lambert, Adam Haithcock; great grandchild, Ashley Robinson.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 3, 2022, at Ridge Funeral Home.
