Roger Dale Strider

Roger Dale Strider, 74, of Asheboro, died Monday, November 9, 2020, at his home. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 14, 2020, at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Jody Harrison officiating. Roger was born on December 3, 1945, in Randolph County. He worked for York Hosiery Mill his entire career. He loved older cars, getting breakfast with his friend Butch, and his family very much. He was an incredibly strong cancer survivor, beating prostate, liver and stomach cancer at different times. He is preceded in death by his parents, James B. Strider and Marizelle Henson Strider; and faithful companion dog, Whitney. He is survived by his daughter, Brigette Welton and husband Paul of High Rock Lake, NC; sister, Barbara Gallimore of Asheboro; brother, Gary Strider and wife Barbara of Asheboro; grandchildren, Nicholas Welton, Benjamin Welton; and nephew, Shaun Gallimore. Mr. Strider's body will lie in state from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m. Friday, November 13, 2020, at Ridge Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Randolph Cancer Center Patient Assistance Fund, 373 North Fayetteville Street, Asheboro, NC 27203
