Rodrigo Ricardo Muñoz

Con profundo pesar, la familia Muñoz anuncia el fallecimiento de Rodrigo Ricardo Muñoz Mejía, de 79 años, de Asheboro, quien falleció el martes 12 de mayo de 2026 en su hogar. Nació el 7 de febrero de 1947 y fue el amado esposo de Elsa Muñoz. Rodrigo partió a la presencia del Señor, dejando un legado de amor, fe y alegría.

El servicio fúnebre se llevará a cabo a las 2:00 p.m. del lunes 18 de mayo de 2026 en la capilla de Ridge Funeral Home, ubicada en 908 Albemarle Road, Asheboro, y será oficiado por el pastor Alberto Velázquez. Posteriormente se realizará el sepelio en New Hope Memorial Gardens.

Fue un padre dedicado para Marcos, Noe, Demetrio, Guadalupe, Zoraida y Raúl, y un abuelo lleno de ternura y paciencia. Su talento en la cocina y su habilidad para hacer reír a todos con su humor único llenaron de vida cada reunión familiar.

Rodrigo vivió con una fe firme y ahora descansa en la paz eterna de Dios. Su familia encuentra consuelo en la promesa de que sus risas, su cariño y sus enseñanzas permanecerán para siempre en sus corazones.

Además de sus padres, a Rodrigo le precedió en la muerte su primera esposa, Catalina Muñoz.

Le sobreviven su esposa, Elsa Villegas Muñoz; sus hijas, Zorayda Muñoz (Cesar) y Guadalupe Muñoz (Carlos González); sus hijos, Noe Muñoz (Dora), Demetrio Muñoz (Alma), Marco Antonio Muñoz (Yanet) y Raul Muñoz (Martha); varios hermanos y hermanas; así como numerosos nietos y bisnietos.

La familia recibirá a los amigos el lunes, antes del servicio, de 12:45 a 1:45 p.m. en Ridge Funeral Home.

It is with deep sorrow, the Muñoz family announces the passing of Rodrigo Ricardo Muñoz Mejía, 79, of Asheboro, died Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at his home. He was born on February 7, 1947, and was the beloved husband of Elsa Muñoz. Rodrigo departed to the presence of the Lord, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and joy.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 18, 2026, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, 908 Albemarle Road, Asheboro, with Pastor Alberto Velazquez officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Memorial Gardens.

He was a dedicated father to Marcos, Noe, Demetrio, Guadalupe, Zoraida, and Raúl, and a grandfather full of tenderness and patience. His talent in the kitchen and his ability to make everyone laugh with his unique humor filled every family gathering with life.

Rodrigo lived with a steadfast faith and now rests in the eternal peace of God. His family finds comfort in the promise that his laughter, affection, and teachings will remain forever in their hearts.

In addition to his parents, Rodrigo was preceded in death by his first wife, Catalina Muñoz.

He is survived by his wife, Elsa Villegas Muñoz; daughters, Zorayda Muñoz (Cesar), Guadalupe Muñoz (Carlos Gonalez); sons, Noe Muñoz (Dora), Demetrio Muñoz (Alma), Marco Antonio Muñoz (Yanet), Raul Muñoz (Martha); several brothers and sisters; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 12:45 until 1:45 p.m., Monday, at Ridge Funeral Home prior to the service.
