Roberta Edmonds

Roberta Auman Edmonds, age 77 of Seagrove, NC, passed away on May 7, 2026.

Born on February 14, 1949, to Robert and Ida Auman, she was a woman whose life was defined by dedication to family, community, and church. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and community leader, Roberta leaves behind a legacy of love. She is survived by her devoted husband of Roy Edmonds; her children, Lucia Cox and her husband Jeff, and Maria King and husband Guy; her brother, Mike King and wife Sue of Carolina Beach; her cherished grandchildren, David Moody his wife Amanda, Sarah Moody, Charlie King, Caroline King, and Olivia King; her great grandchildren Aria and John Moody; and a vast network of extended family whose branches she carefully traced.

Roberta was known for her artistic and musical talent, her passion to serve her church through flower arrangements, teaching, leadership, leading music, deaf ministry, and missions. She was an avid family historian, dedicating decades to researching the family tree, ensuring that the stories of their ancestors were never forgotten. Her commitment to service left a lasting impact on her community, where she will be remembered for her warmth and dedication to others.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2026 at 1:30 pm at Suggs Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, 2364 Ether Road, Star, NC, with Rev. Carol Hunter officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Flag Springs United Methodist Church, 5852 Zoo Parkway, Asheboro, NC 27205.
