Robert S. Williams

Robert Sidney Williams, 85, of Asheboro, NC, died Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Randolph Health and Rehabilitation Center in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro, with Rev. Brian Faircloth officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. A native of Randolph County, Mr. Williams was born December 20, 1932, the son of the late Thurman and Queen Latham Williams. He had worked in the furniture industry and was retired from the City of Asheboro. Robert loved to pick and joke with people and he knew everyone and never met a stranger. He was a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church and later attended Meadowbrook Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his loving companion for over 35 years, Hallie Glasgow, his sister, Madelle Galloway, and brother, Rev. James (JB) Williams. Survivors include his daughters, Treva Williams-Gallimore, of Asheboro, Janice Williams, of Randleman; son, Jeff Williams and wife, Jean, of Ramseur; sisters, Mary Edwards, of Marshville, NC, Alice Luther, of Asheboro, Pat Miller, of Troy, Kay Luck, of Asheboro; brother, Rev. Thurman Williams and wife, Paula, of Asheboro six grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, June 25, 2018, at Ridge Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Mt.
