Robert Trotter

Mr. James Robert Trotter, 79, of Asheboro, NC, died Monday, February 28, 2011, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital. A funeral service is scheduled for 3:00 pm Thursday, March 3, 2011, at Charlotte United Methodist Church with Pastor Angel Christ and the Rev. Steve Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. A native of Rockingham County, NC, Mr. Trotter was born May 3, 1931. He was the son of the late James William Trotter and Lula Belle Young Trotter. He was retired from Acme-McCrary Hosiery Mill. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Nickey T. Trotter, and his sister, Shirley Greene. Mr. Trotter served in the US Army during the Korean War. Mr. Trotter is survived by his wife, Gladys Trotter, of the home; sons, Billy Trotter, of Asheboro, NC; Gary Trotter and wife, Vickie, of Sophia, NC Wesley Trotter and wife, Sheila, of Trinity, NC; brother, Harold W. Trotter, of Asheboro, NC; special nephew, Anthony Greene, of Asheboro, NC; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
