Robert L. Johnson

Mr. Robert Lee Johnson, 62, of Seagrove, NC, departed this life on October 16, 2011. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Thursday, October 20, 2011, at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church with Pastor Michael McLeod and Pastor Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A native of Moore County, NC, Robert was born May 31, 1949. He was the son of the late Archie Leon Marsh and Annie Clara Johnson. Robert grew up in Carthage, N.C and attended Pickney High and graduated from Union Pines High School in 1967. He was employed at Georgia Pacific for 37 years until his health declined. He was known for his sense of humor and smart whit. He loved his family and friends and had a willing heart to help others in need. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Susan Washington. He was a loving husband and father and was married to Annie Ruth Johnson for 41 years. He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Comalitha J. Taylor, of Raleigh, NC, Lashonda J. Shamburger and husband, Mike, of Asheboro, NC; one sister, Annette Spencer, of Sanford, NC; one aunt, Archie McLeod, of Sanford, NC; six grandchildren; one step grandson; one step great grandson; nieces, nephew, cousins and numerous friends. Friends may call from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at Ridge Funeral Home, or visit the family at the home at other times.
