Robert Nathan Hill, 83, of Asheboro, passed away Friday, March 21, 2025, at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Mt. Pleasant Community Church, with Rev. Bryan Rush officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Robert was born on January 21, 1942, in Montgomery Co., the son of the late Brantley Harris Hill and Lola Hamilton Hill. He retired from Elliot's Office Equipment after 38 years. After retirement, he also worked at Day Reporting Center. Robert was a member at Mt. Pleasant Community Church for 58 years and enjoyed going to mens breakfast when he was able. Robert liked to keep himself busy with fixing and repairing things. He loved traveling, fishing, and being outdoors by the river or the beach. Robert loved supporting his grandchildren and going to their sporting events.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his brother, Junie Hill.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Gwen Hill of the home; daughter, Dana Hill Nance and husband Jeff of Asheboro; sisters, Rose Ashworth, Arlene Freeman, Grace Murray and husband Sonny; brother, Gilbert Hill and wife Frankie; grandchildren, Eli Nance and wife Bailey, Daniel Nance, Austin Nance, Sean Nance; and great grandchild, Theodore Nance.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Ridge Funeral Home.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Home Instead, Hospice of Randolph and to Eve Anderson for the support and care given to Robert.
