Robert Evans

Robert Junior "Bob" Evans, 89, of Worthville, died Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 17, 2016, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park. A native of Omaha, Nebraska, Mr. Evans has been a resident of Randolph County for 68 years. He was born October 5, 1926 to the late Juanita Brubaker of Havre, MO, and Glee Evans of Omaha, NE. Mr. Evans was an employee of Klopman Mills/Burlington Industries for 38 years. He was a veteran of the US Army having served in the 82nd Airborne at Fort Bragg. Mr. Evans is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sarah Yow Evans of the home; daughter, Lisa Evans and companion, Mark Routh of Randleman; grandson, Robert Anthony "Chip" Wood, Jr. of Randleman; great-grandchildren, Callie, Sarah and Christopher, all of Randleman. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m., prior to the service, Sunday at the funeral home.
