Robert "Bob" Ray Lee

Robert "Bob" Ray Lee, 86, of 3600 Davidson Hwy., Concord, N.C. passed away on September 8, 2018. Friends and family are invited to celebrate his life on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church in Concord, N.C. The family will receive friends in the Ray Allen Memorial Parlour from 1:00-2:15 p.m. before the service at 2:30 p.m. Bob was born on December 2, 1931 to William Delmas and Evelyn Elaine Hawkins Lee in Kannapolis, N.C. Bob graduated from Winecoff High School in 1950, where he was student body president and a letterman in all sports. He served in the Air Force for four years and graduated from Catawba College in 1957 before beginning his career with the federal government. Bob married his high school sweetheart, Phyllis Goodman, with whom he shared more than 66 years of happy memories with their family and many trips to their favorite places. He was a longtime member of Mt. Olivet UMC, where he sang in the choir. Bob was also a member of the Lions Club and a volunteer at the Winecoff Fire Department. Bob will be missed by everyone who knew him, especially his family. He leaves behind wife Phyllis G. Lee, sister Delaine L. Parker (Larry) of Ferguson, N.C., two daughters Renda L. Welch (Chris) of Concord, N.C. and Robbie L. Fisher (Alan) of Kannapolis, N.C., two granddaughters Lauren E. Welch and Erin W. Robbins (Joseph) of Raleigh, N.C., and one great-granddaughter Audrey L. Robbins of Raleigh, N.C. Bob was well-liked by all who had the pleasure of meeting him. He never met a stranger and treated everyone he met like they were old friends. Bob will be remembered for his infectious smile, big hugs, silly jokes, and an unwavering love of Carolina basketball. In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial contribution to Mt.
