Robert L. Anderson

Mr. Robert Lee Anderson, 76, of Asheboro, NC, died Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at Randolph Hospital. A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am Saturday, April 30, 2011, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Harper officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Asheboro. A native of Surry County, NC, Mr. Anderson was born October 28, 1934. He was the son of the late Archie Anderson and Nettie Barker Anderson. Robert worked at Certified Concrete and retired from Stouts Trucking Co. He was a loving husband and father who loved to spend time with his family. Robert also loved to watch the race every weekend and have his milkshakes and ice cream. Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife of 54 years, Edith Mae Anderson, of the home; children, Linda Davis, Asheboro, Teresa Slussar and husband, Danny of Asheboro, Kathy Galya and Jerry Galya, both of Suwanee, GA; grandchildren, Terry Lee Davis, Matthew Slussar, both of Asheboro, Caitlin Galya, and Brandon Galya, both of Suwanee, GA; great grandchildren, Brianna Davis, Zachary Davis, Grayson Davis, Ethan Davis, all of Asheboro; sisters, Mary Leonard and Hazel Smith, both of Asheboro. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm Friday, April 29, 2011, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
