Richard Wade Isom

Richard Wade Isom, Jr., 83, of Ramseur, died Friday, May 20, 2016 at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at West Asheboro Church of God, Asheboro, with Rev. Matt Gunter, Rev. Michael Woolard and Neil Gruer officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Spring Friends Meeting Cemetery. Born in Randolph County on March 2, 1933, Mr. Isom was the son of the late Richard Wade Isom, Sr. and Elizabeth Virginia Rogers Isom. He was a former employee of Harrelson Rubber Company and Paper Stock Dealer. He was a member of West Asheboro Church of God. In addition to his parents, Mr. Isom was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Isom, his son, Gene McIntyre, his sisters, Evelyn Bowman, Ellen Dawkins, Ella Thompson, and brother, David Isom. Surviving are daughters, Caroline Duke, of Greenville, SC, P.J. Mills, of Albemarle; sons, Richard Isom, III, of Ramseur, Bill McIntyre, of Randleman, Butch McIntyre, of Ramseur; sisters, Elsie Fisher, Esther Surratt, both of Asheboro, Glenda Gregory, Mary Brady, both of Asheboro; brothers, Sonny Isom, Pete Isom, both of Asheboro; eleven grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m., Monday, May 23, 2016, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
