Richard Davis

John Richard Davis, 67, of Asheboro, died Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 5, 2015, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Tabor Community Church Cemetery with military honors presented by the Randolph County Honor Guard. A native of Robeson County, Mr. Davis was born November 6, 1948, to the late John and Grace Davis. He was employed at Klaussner Furniture Industries and worked at Willett's Mini Mart for 31 years. Mr. Davis was a US Army Veteran having served during Vietnam. He was an avid Carolina fan, he loved golf and his dog "Lucky Puppy". In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jeffery Lynn Davis. Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Nancy Bray Davis of the home; brothers, Jimmy Grey Davis and wife, Diana of Greensboro, Danny Davis and wife, Rhonda of Randleman; and brother-in-law, Michael Bray and wife, Becky of Asheboro. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m., Saturday, prior to the service at Ridge Funeral Home. The family will be at the home of Michael and Becky Bray following the service.
