Rebecca Ann "Becky" Murray Burgess, 84, of Greensboro, NC, died Monday, December 24, 2018 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro. Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 31, 2018, at Lakeview Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, with Pastor Craig officiating. A native of Franklin Co., NC, Mrs. Burgess was born January 23, 1934, the daughter of the late Henry and Nannie Moye Murray. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and was a devoted Christian. Keeping her family involved in the church was very important. She was retired from Travelers Insurance and served as Secretary / Treasurer of Jim Burgess Electric Co. But her whole life was about her family, especially her sons and grandsons. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Burgess was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Burgess, and grandson, Timothy Steven Burgess. Mrs. Burgess is survived by her sons, Greg Burgess and Miriam, Eric Burgess, all of Greensboro, NC; grandchildren, Brandon Burgess, of Greensboro, NC, Jamie Burgess and wife, Ashley, of Kernersville, NC, Jordan Burgess and wife, Maria, of Greensboro, NC, Christian Burgess, of Greensboro, NC; and great grandson, Easton Burgess. The family will receive friends following the service.
