Raymond Moore

Raymond Eugene Moore, 80, of Asheboro, died Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home in Asheboro. Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 26, 2017, at Christian Fellowship Church, Asheboro with Rev. David Hunt officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Born September 17, 1936 in El Paso, TX, Mr. Moore was the son of the late Raymond R. Moore and Virginia Scudder. He worked as an accountant and was retired from E G & G Automotive Research in San Antonio, TX. Mr. Moore was a member of Christian Fellowship Church. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps, was a member of the Randolph County Honor Guard, the American Legion and the Marine Corps League. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Moore. Mr. Moore is survived by his wife, Helen Moore of the home; son, Daniel Moore and wife, Sherri of San Antonio, TX; stepdaughter, Brenda Shepard and husband, Kevin of Greensboro; stepson, David Mangum of San Antonio, TX; sister, Darlene Hower and husband, Don of Arvada, CO; brother, Robert Moore of Fountain, CO; granddaughters, Kayla Moore and Krissy Moore; step-grandchildren, Victoria Mangum, Jordan Sharpe, Meghan Ross, Lauren Shepard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
