Raymond Phillip Jarrell

Raymond Phillip Jarrell, 74, of Central Falls, died Thursday, August 13, 2026, at Alpine Health and Rehabilitation in Asheboro. He was born on June 19, 1952, in Asheboro, NC, to Helen Opal Hill Jarrell and Raymond Tillman Jarrell.

Phillip attended Grays Chapel School and graduated from Eastern Randolph High School. He was an employee of Burlington Mills in Central Falls until becoming his mother's caretaker.

He was a history and political enthusiast. Phillip enjoyed banter over government's failures and successes, and invited a debate with any worthy and knowledgeable opponent. He loved sports, especially professional baseball and football. He was an avid Carolina Tar Heel fan. He eagerly looked forward to regular visits from his California family. Phillip remained a lifelong bachelor and had no children. He was a beloved brother and uncle with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Phillip was preceded in death by his brothers, Larry Jarrell, Gilbert Jarrell, Thomas Jarrell; sisters, Carolyn Jarrell, Patricia Jarrell Poole, Marie Jarrell Langley; nephew, Bobby Jarrell; and great niece, Delaina Poole.

He is survived by his brother, Vance Jarrell of Central Falls; nieces, Vivian Sykes (James), Stacy Mashakian (Russ), Rochelle Szeliga (Dave), Gidget Woodward (Robert), Tanisha Jarrell; nephews, David Poole (Lori), Charles Poole (Maria), JR Jarrell (Amanda); great nieces, Britney Poole, Laura Moffitt (Kirby) Cassi Szeliga, Piper Szeliga, Ashlee Gunter (Nick), Katlynn Hunt, Willow Laverne Woodward, Abigail Woodward, Rebekah Woodward, McKenna Jarrell, Autumn Jarrell, Page Mashakian; great nephews, Cory Mashakian (Kristin), Caleb Woodward, Jared Hunt, Colby Jarrell, Dallas Gordon (Falon); and twelve great-great nieces and nephew.
