Ray Maness

Mr. James "Ray"� Maness, 76, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2013 at his home in Greenville, NC. Ray was born in Sanford and moved to Asheboro at a very early age. He was a 1954 graduate of Asheboro High School. He married Gloria Ann Witt and they raised two daughters in Asheboro. He was a longtime managing partner of Auto Supply Co. of Asheboro. He was a classic car enthusiast who enjoyed restoring automobiles and attending classic car events. He is preceded in death by his wife. Ray is survived by two daughters, Jill Maness Muller Deem and husband, Steve of Oakland, CA and Kim Maness Matthews and husband, Rodney of Greenville, NC; three grandsons, McLane Muller, Benjamin and Christopher Matthews; granddaughter, Cameren Muller; niece, Cindy Keeling and husband, Jimmy; and two nephews, Randy Johnson and wife, Joan and Jeff Chamberlain and wife, Kristi. The family will receive friends Saturday, January 19th, 2013 from 4 to 6pm at Ridge Funeral Home, 908 Albemarle Road, Asheboro, NC 27203.
