Randy "R.J." Gardner

Randy Wayne "R.J." Gardner, II, 20, of Reidsville, NC, died Thursday, August 14, 2014, at his home. A funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 21, 2014 at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Franklin Bowman officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park in Greensboro. A native of Guilford County, NC, Mr. Gardner was born May 22, 1994. Randy "R.J." attended Rockingham County Community College, had played high school football, and enjoyed M.M.A. and music. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Linda and Johnny East, great grandparents, Esther Woodell Hicks and Mary and Winfred Rigney, aunt, Vallie Bohannon, and cousin, Ricky. Randy "R.J." had a big smile and contagious laugh that would light up a room. He would pick you up when you were down and was the sunshine in the family. Mr. Gardner is survived by his father, Randy Gardner (Lisa), of Reidsville; mother, Reshell Singleton (Charles), of Troy; grandparents, Elsie Rigney Gardner (Harold), of Reidsville, Ronald Gardner (Ruth), of Stoneville; aunts and uncles, Ronnie Gardner, Beth Bogden, James Bogden, Kim Stanley, Lorraine Bohannon, Bill Rigney, Richard Rigney, Tim Gammons, Todd Gammons; cousins, Courtney, Brittney, Nicole, Sierra, Chelsea, Crystal, Caitlyn, April, Brenda, Howard Lee, Billie Ann, Jason, Tammy, Missy, Spencer, Trenton, Grayson, Hillary and Josh. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Wednesday, August 20, 2014, at Ridge Funeral Home.
