Rancie "Bud" Lee Moore, Jr., 88, of Asheboro, died Friday, January 15, 2021, at his home. A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, January 17, 2021, at Mountain View Independent Methodist Church with Rev. Clint Kearns and Rev. David Hunt officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Born in Moore County, NC on April 30, 1932, the son of the late Rancie Lee Moore and Nora Scott Moore. He retired as a Master Sergeant with US Army after 20 years of service. He served during the Korean, Vietnam and the Cold War. He received many awards, including the Army Good Conduct Medal, and Meritorious Service Award. He later retired from General Electric in 1977 and then founded Caraway Machine Shop. In addition to his parents, Bud was preceded in death by his wife, Lydia Moore; son, Rancie L. Moore III; siblings, Louise Maness, Dee Moore, Howard Moore and Paul Moore. Surviving are his children, Anthony Moore, Greg McNeill, Keith McNeill, Dorcas Lamb and spouse Kevin; siblings, Betty Garner, Valeen Maness, Wilma Davis, Marvin Moore, Roy Moore; five grandchildren, Robert Lamb, Jennie McNeill, Shane McNeill, Justin Lamb and Blair Lamb. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Lane, Lexington, NC 27292.
