Rachel C. Gatlin

Mrs. Rachel Doris Cole Gatlin, 72, of Seagrove, NC, died Thursday, September 20, 2012, at Randolph Health & Rehabilitation. A funeral service is scheduled for 4:00 pm Sunday, September 23, 2012, at Maple Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Howard McNeill and Rev. Thurman Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mrs. Gatlin was born November 13, 1939. She was the daughter of the late Columbus Cole and Ethel Auman Cole. She loved to attend her two granddaughters' church programs, as well as any other activities outside of church they participated in. She loved to be outside and see God's creation and especially God's sunsets. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gatlin was preceded in death by her sisters, Clacie King and Hazel Adams, and her brothers, Reggie Cole and Paul Cole. Mrs. Gatlin is survived by her husband, Cecil Gatlin, of the home; daughter, Kimberly Dawn Gatlin, of High Point, NC; son, Stewart Ray Gatlin, of Seagrove, NC; sisters, Avis Cox, of Liberty, NC, Colene Counts, of Seagrove, NC, Emogene Kiser, of Seagrove, NC, Wilma Jones, of Texas, Edna Hayes, of Asheboro, NC; two granddaughters, Makenzie and Savannah Gatlin. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Saturday, September 22, 2012, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
