Rachel Maxine McNeill Bouldin, 91, of Asheboro, died Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Cross Road Retirement Community in Asheboro. Mrs. Bouldin was born in the Steeds Community of Moore County on August 16, 1929, to Benjamin and Flossie Williamson McNeill. She was the class secretary and valedictorian of the Class of 1947 at Westmoore High School. She married Lewis Paul Bouldin on April 7, 1950. Mrs. Bouldin was a faithful member of Forest Park Baptist Church as long as her health permitted. She taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. Mrs. Bouldin was retired from Jockey International where she was the retail store manager. She previously worked at the Central Falls plant of Burlington Mills, in the Asheboro City Schools, and at Central Bakery. After retirement, she volunteered for many years at Randolph Hospital. She loved making cherry cheesecakes. She was a Tar Heels fan. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bouldin was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Paul and her son, Ricky Bouldin. She was also predeceased by sisters, Rona Brown, Cleadell Williamson, Clara Cox and Viola Hayes, and brothers, Harvey, Herman, Lloyd and Dewey McNeill. Mrs. Bouldin is survived by her son, Philip Bouldin (Tish) of Greenville, SC; sisters, Myrtle Brewer and Betty (Bobby) Maness, both of Seagrove; brother, Roy McNeill (Ruth) of Seagrove; grandchildren, Philip (Christina) Bouldin of Matthews, Sarah Blougouras (Costas) of Stoneham, MA; great-grandchildren, Philip Bouldin, III, and Malia Bouldin. A celebration of life service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 14, 2021, at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro, with nephews: Howard McNeill and Kenneth Bouldin officiating. Nephews: Randy Maness and Barron Maness will sing. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Rachel Bouldin to Cross Road Retirement Community, 1302 Old Cox Road, Asheboro, NC 27205. The family wishes to express its deepest gratitude to Cross Road Retirement Community for the love and care given to Mrs. Bouldin during her residence there.
