Esther "Quenia" Maquenia Fields, 77, of Thomasville, went to be with Jesus, Monday, October 3, 2022, at Thomasville Medical Center.


A private memorial service will be held at a later date.


A native of Keystone, West Virginia, Quenia was born on October 13, 1944. She was a devoted lifetime homemaker, and a loving wife, mother, mawmaw, grandma, and granny. She loved fishing, cooking and playing bingo. She enjoyed listening to old country and gospel music, and working in her flowers. Quenia especially loved all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.


Quenia was preceded in death by her mom and dad; husband of nearly 45 years, Jack Fields; sons, James Fields, Bubby Fields, Jerry Fields; two sisters, and three brothers.


She is survived by her children, Susie (Wayne) Barton, Della Fields, Darrell Fields, Kevin Fields, Liz (Vernon) Hayes; grandchildren, Carrie (Geoff) Halbrook, Johnny Barton, Jackie Barton, Samuel (Jamee) Tate, Mikey (Courtney) Loflin, Hannah (Tyler) Freeman, David Fields, Hope Fields, Ashley Fields, Joshua Fields; great grandchildren, Rylee, Harper, Julia, Jackson, Kinsley, Madison, Bayle, Grace, Kayley, Aaliyah, Oakley, Trevor, Paityn, Peyton, Cierra, Lily, Kindle, Noah, Kimberly; siblings, Pete Fritz, Agnes Deckerd, Roy Fritz, Sharon Doss, Fred Fields, Alice Niece. In addition, Quenia leaves behind several nieces and nephews, and her West Virginia family whom she loved dearly.
