Polly Thompson Scott

Mrs. Polly Ann Thompson Scott, 90, of Asheboro, NC, died Sunday, October 20, 2013, at Randolph Hospital. A funeral service is scheduled for 4:00 pm Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at West Asheboro Baptist Church with Rev. Sam Hicks officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Asheboro. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mrs. Scott was born May 12, 1923. She was the daughter of the late Rev. H. S. B. Thompson and Bessie Lewallen Thompson. Polly was a homemaker and a lifelong care giver. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Walter Scott, sons, Joe and Bobby Scott, grandson, Steve Overman, and sons-in-law, Steve Dupree and Harold Boone. Mrs. Scott is survived by daughters, Wanda Boone, Brenda Scott, Judy Dupree, all of Asheboro, NC; son, Wayne Hogan, of Asheboro, NC; daughter of the heart, Charlene Wood; grandchildren, Scott Overman, of Asheboro, NC, Ralph Overman, of Bennett, Krista Dunn, Angela Dozier, Kim Clodfelter, all of Asheboro, Bryan Dupree, of Seagrove, NC; 16 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Tuesday, October 22, 2013, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home of Judy Dupree, 1310 Sunset Ave., Asheboro, NC.
