Phyllis P. Hilton

Mrs. Phyllis Marie Poole Hilton, 62, of 3746 Whitaker Road, Asheboro, NC, died Saturday, March 27, 2010, at her home. A lifelong resident of Randolph County, Mrs. Hilton was born March 17, 1948, the daughter of the late Edward Lee and Annie Marie Reeder Poole. She was a graduate of Gray's Chapel, class of 1966, had worked as the cafeteria manager of Seagrove School for 14 years and later worked for Food Lion in the bakery and as a cashier for 8 years. She was a member of the N.C. School Food Service Association and was the Relay for Life coordinator for Food Lion. Mrs. Hilton was one of Jehovah's Witnesses. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hilton was preceded in death by her nephew, Caleb Lowry. Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Lowell D. Hilton, of the home; son, Cameron Lee Hilton and wife, Vickie, of Asheville; daughters, Janean Hilton Richmond, of Seagrove, Heather Lynn Hilton, of the home; sister, Sharon Lowry and husband, Frank, of Seagrove; niece, Stacey-Anne Hussey and husband, James, of Asheboro; five grandchildren and one great grandchild. The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Monday, March 29, 2010, and other times at the home.
