Phillip Norris Key, 67, of Randleman, passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.


A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 6, 2026, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, 908 Albemarle Road, with Pastor Landon Flinchum officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park.


Phillip was born on January 9, 1959, in Randolph County, the son of the late Brady Martin Key and Margaret Briles Key. He was a faithful member at Friendship Baptist Church where he served as a sound technician. He was a witty person with a great sense of humor. Phillip was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.


In addition to his parents, Phillip was preceded in death by his brother, James Key and sister, Debbie Cox.


Phillip is survived by the love of his life, wife of 16 years, Peggy Key; daughter, Kimberly Marie Jarrell (Taylor); several brothers and sisters; grandson, Mason Jarrell and several nieces and nephews.


The family will receive friends from 12:45 until 1:45 p.m., Monday at Ridge Funeral Home prior to the service.


Memorials may be made to Friendship Baptist Church, 2235 Spero Road, Randleman, NC 27317.
