Phillip Matthew Cagle, 57, of Asheboro, died Saturday, April 30, 2016 at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 5, 2016, at Pisgah United Methodist Church with Rev. Ed Carter officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A native of Randolph County, Mr. Cagle was born March 2, 1959 to James "Jimmy" and Helen Cagle. He was a loving husband, father, son and brother. He was a member of Pisgah United Methodist Church. Mr. Cagle was a life long farmer, as well as self-employed in construction and catering. He loved helping people, especially his family and he believed in hard work. He worked with people throughout his lifetime helping with Christians United of Southern Randolph, worked with the Boy Scouts, and other people that had a need. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Cynthia Cagle of the home; sons, Matt Cagle (fiancé, Devan Mabe), Cody Cagle, both of the home; sisters, Diane Coley and husband, Raeford, of Asheboro, Pat Jarvis and husband, Sam, of Asheboro; nieces and nephews, Kevin Coley (Renee), Christiana Jarvis, Cheryl Coley, Keith Jarvis; and great nieces and nephews, Joah Coley, Morgan Coley, Lillian Coley and Daniel Coley. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at 6149 Pisgah Rd., Asheboro, NC. Memorials may be made to Pisgah United Methodist Church, 5594 Pisgah Covered Bridge Rd., Asheboro, NC 27205.
