Mr. Phillip Gene "Pop" Lovell, 71, of Franklinville, NC, died Monday, June 24, 2013, at Randolph Hospital. A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Saturday, June 29, 2013, at Cornerstone Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie Cannon officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mr. Lovell was born January 26, 1942. He was the son of the late Noel Franklin Lovell and Dorothy Cox Lovell. He had worked for 9 ½ years at Union Carbide and 33 years driving a tractor trailer all over the U.S.A. Mr. Lovell served in the US Army. Mr. Lovell is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Linda L. Lovell, of the home; daughter, Tammy Redding, of Asheboro, NC; sons, Rodney Gene Lovell and wife, Barbara, of Oakboro, NC, Norman Lovell and wife, Mickey, of Knox, IN; twin sister, Phyllis Liverett, of Miller's Creek, NC; sisters, Brenda Sue Davis, Linda Maness; brother, Darrell Lovell; grandchildren, Beau Redding, Elizabeth Redding, Jason Lovell; step grandchildren, Jason, Morgan; great grandchildren, Grace, Dakota, Brittney, Lorelia; step great grandchild, Owen. The family will receive friends at the home. Memorials may be made to the Phillip Lovell Fund, c/o SunTrust, 272 North Fayetteville Street, Asheboro, NC 27203.
