Peter Coltrane, 67, of Asheboro, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2019, surrounded by his family at his home. Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 20, 2019, at Ridge Funeral Home, with Rev. Rodney Foxx officiating. Born on February 1, 1952, in Randolph Co., to the late William Cyrus Harris and Lettie Patterson. He was then adopted by John Franklin Coltrane and Mary Elizabeth Harris Coltrane who preceded him in death. Peter was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He had worked full time at Food Lion for over 20 years, and at the same time at Klaussner Furniture for over 37 years. In addition to his parents, Peter was preceded in death by his brothers, Michael Harris, Sonny Harris; and sisters, Maxine Harris Curtis and Ann Graves. Surviving are his wife, Wendy Coltrane of the home, children, John Ridley and wife Kenyetta of Greensboro, Reta White and husband Jerry of Siler City, Evette Caviness of Greensboro, Katina Ridley Brown and husband David of Greensboro, Mary Howard and husband Antwan of Albemarle, Bryant Coltrane of Albemarle, Kendra Brown of Greensboro, Tori Coltrane of Liberty, Ryan Coltrane of Ramsuer; stepchildren, Crystal Wiker and husband Billy of Franklinville, Justin Jameson of Myrtle Beach; siblings, Cyrus Harris Jr., John H. Harris, Theodare Harris, Barry Harris, Lavernon Harris, Francis Ann Wade; 27 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; special aunt Rosa Lee Patterson; and his best friend "Homie". The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home from 6 until 8 p.m., Thursday, September 19, 2019, and other times at the home.
