Peggy Gordon

Peggy Jean Owens Gordon, 82, of Asheboro, died Saturday, March 25, 2017 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 30, 2017, at West Asheboro Baptist Church with Rev. Sam Hicks officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park. Mrs. Gordon was born December 17, 1934 in Richmond County to the late W.C. and Theresa Owens. She grew up in Hamlet, NC and later moved to Asheboro. Mrs. Gordon was retired from Burlington Mills (Kayser-Roth). She was a member of West Asheboro Baptist Church. Mrs. Gordon loved swimming in her backyard pool and going to the beach. She enjoyed traveling all over the U.S. and Canada. Mrs. Gordon loved gospel music, flowers and working in the yard. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gordon was preceded in death by her siblings: Lucille Smith, Anna Dora Peele, Irene Deaton, Pate Owens and Bill Owens. She is survived by her husband, Donald Lee Gordon of the home; son, Vernon Lee Gordon of the home; granddaughter, Alena G. Cushman (Rob) of Columbus, MS; grandson, Jeremy Gordon of Charlotte, NC; great-granddaughter, Lia Cushman and great-grandson, Caden Cushman, both of Columbus, MS. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
