Peggy W. Barker

Mrs. Peggy Ann Walker Barker, 79, of 251 Charles Avenue, died Friday, October 8, 2010, at her residence. A funeral service is scheduled for 3:00 pm Tuesday, October 12, 2010, at the Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Perry D. Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park. A native of Guilford County, NC, Mrs. Barker was born March 3, 1931. She was the daughter of the late James Albert Walker and Maude Euginia Summers Walker. She loved flowers, bird watching and shopping at Wal-Mart. She was a great cook. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Barker was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Chuck" Julius Barker, and her sisters, Marion Plaeger and Betty Simmons. The family would like to extend a special thanks to all the staff at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home, the office and staff of Dr. Caroline Prochnau and Dr. Michael Applegate, Randolph Hospital, Community Home Care & Hospice, and of course, all of her friends. Mrs. Barker is survived by daughter, Pamela Burrow and husband, Jesse, of Asheboro; brothers, Douglas Walker, of Georgia, Jack Walker, of Greensboro; grandchild, Kevin Burrow. The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm Tuesday, October 12, 2010, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
