Peggy Armstrong

Peggy Armstrong, age 51, of Sophia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro. She was born May 4, 1966 in Asheboro, NC to Coolidge and Ruby (Tanner) Armstrong. She was a 1984 graduate of Asheboro High School and a member of Bailey's Grove Baptist Church. Peggy truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures, chatting with friends and family. She enjoyed dancing, watching movies, playing Bingo, and going to baseball games. She loved spending time with her nephews and nieces. She loved singing in the choir at church and going to church when she was able to attend. Peggy had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. In additon to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Armstrong; brother, Michael Armstrong; and brother-in-law, Bennie Banks, Jr. She is survived by her sister, Susie Banks of Sophia; brothers, Kenny (Valerie) Armstrong of Asheboro, James Armstrong of Greensboro, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncle, cousins and friends. Family, friends and others whose lives Peggy touched are invited to The Greater St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 816 Marin Luther King, Jr. Dr., Asheboro, NC, from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2017 to celebrate her life. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 1120 Old Cedar Falls Rd., Asheboro, NC.
