Pearly Rives

Pearly Jane Rives, 84, of Asheboro , died Monday, June 5, 2017 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. A celebration of life service will be conducted at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, June 8, 2017, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tim Burriss officiating. Born May 16, 1933 in Guilford County, Mrs. Rives was the daughter of the late A.C. and Gladys Swaney Peele. She was retired from Pinehurst Textiles and was a member of Forest Park Baptist Church. Mrs. Rives enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, sewing and cooking. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Rives; daughter, Janie L. Long; sister, Mary Lee Joyce; and brothers, Clinton Peele and James Peele. Survivors include her son, Art Rives and wife, Beth of Sanford; brother, Claudie William Peele and wife, June of Asheboro; son-in-law, Richard Reeves of Colfax; sister-in-law, Louise Peele of Asheboro; grandchildren, Annabeth Rives, Faith Rives Chloe Rives, all of Sanford and Stephanie Reeves and Matthew Reeves, both of Colfax. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Forest Park Baptist Church, 132 Gum St., Randleman, NC 27317.
