Pauline King

Pauline "Polly" Wright King, 93, of Asheboro, died Monday, February 24, 2020, at Cross Road Retirement Community in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 1, 2020, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Ed Carter and Chaplain Bernie Raymond officiating. Burial will follow at Asbury Baptist Church Cemetery. Pauline was born on April 18, 1926, in Randolph Co., to the late William Murphy Wright and Isabell Pritchard Wright. She was retired from BB Walker after 24 years, and an additional four years at Klaussner Furniture. She enjoyed quilting, embroidering, riding her John Deere lawnmower, and playing gospel and country music on her guitar and piano. Pauline was also a member of Russell's Grove Baptist Church over 30 years. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, James Robert King; sisters, Lucy Allred, Mary Yow, Margaret Coley; and brother, George Henry Wright. Surviving are her sisters, Jessie Mae Weaver and Alline Wright both of Asheboro; nieces and nephews, Kaye Joyce Coley Smith, Phyllis Overman, Raeford, Tommy, Jesse, and David Coley, Morona and Henry Allred, Faye Keeling Chriscoe, Tommy Keeling, Jimmy, Donald, Wanda, and Van Weaver, Vicky M. Kaminsky, and Carol McMasters. The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 29, 2020 and other times at the home of Kaye Joyce and Eddie Smith, 1251 Eagle Oaks Lane, Asheboro, NC. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that your time be spent visiting residents at Long Term Facilities or make memorials to Asbury Baptist Church, Cemetery Fund, 218 Asbury Church Road, Seagrove, NC 27341; or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
