Paula E. (Wright) Presnell

Paula Elaine (Wright) Presnell, 50, of Sophia, passed peacefully, surrounded by her family Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Duke Medical Center in Durham . Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 27, 2018, at Cool Springs Baptist Church with Rev. John Harmon officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. A native of Randolph County, Paula was born October 24, 1967. She was employed by Carter Bank and Trust for the last 14 years. Paula loved her family, friends and her Sunday school class, where she taught children. Paula was a very intelligent, caring and thoughtful person. She was very close to her friends and family and never met a stranger. She always made people feel good about themselves, whether it be a family member, a close friend, a customer at the bank, a child in her Sunday school class or someone she met in passing. Paula loved to laugh and smile. Paula will always have a presence and impact on our lives. We will always remember her smile, her "unique" laugh and how her beautiful, blue eyes sparkled. We all have our memories of her and for this, she will never be forgotten. Paula was preceded in death by her father, Jessie William (Buck) Presnell; grandparents, Junior and Pearl Presnell and Fred and Raie Vuncannon. Paula is survived by her mother, Nancy Presnell of Sophia; brother, Steven Presnell of Sophia; sister, Lisa Spencer and husband, Tracy of Sophia; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of special friends. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice in Paula's memory.
