Paul Staley

Mr. James Paul Staley, 90, of Asheboro, NC, died Tuesday, September 2, 2014, at his home. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Saturday, September 6, 2014, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro. Mr. Staley was born July 23, 1924. He was the son of the late William Grover Staley and Mary Jane Lucas Staley. He was a builder after graduating from Seagrove High School until retiring from Wilson Realty and Construction in 1999. He lived all his life on Zoo Parkway in Asheboro, except for his first two years. He attended Rock Hill Primitive Baptist Church. He was a former Civitan club member, loved NASCAR racing, sports, hunting and traveling. He was a man of his word, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. In addition to his parents, Mr. Staley was preceded in death by his son, Steven Paul Staley; sisters, Elma Thomas, Vera King; brothers, Dewey Staley and Esten Staley. Mr. Staley is survived by his wife, Vera Hughes Staley, of the home; son, Mike Staley and wife, Tracey, of Sewickley, PA; daughter-in-law Brenda Staley, of Dunn; adopted son, Ramasu Suresh and wife, Priya, of Cary; grandchildren, Jeffrey Staley, of Sewickley, PA, Kristol Allen and husband, Scott, of Dunn, Karla Walker and husband, Jeff, of Pekin, IL, Preetha and Pavithra Suresh, of Cary; great-grandchildren, Breanna Waldorf and Logan Allen, of Dunn, Ashlynn, Keri and Anna Walker, of Pekin, IL. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm Friday, September 5, 2014, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
