Paul Pearson Parks, 89, of Asheboro, died Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 5, 2016, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Arnold Luther officiating. Burial will follow at Callicutt Memorial Chapel Cemetery. Born September 6, 1926 in Guilford County, Mr. Parks was the son of the of late Larkin Pearson and Gladys Rush Parks. He was a graduate of Asheboro High School. Mr. Parks was one of the first breeders in this area to introduce exotic breeds of beef cattle. He was a charter member of NC Simmental Association and was a lifetime organic gardener. Mr. Parks retired from Randolph Oil and had previously worked at Balfour Seafood Market and Randolph Packing. Survivors include his wife, Roylene Elizabeth Millikan Parks of the home; daughter, Lou Ann Parks Neal and husband, David Randall Neal of Asheboro; sons, Perry Pearson Parks and wife, Linda Ann Parks of Asheboro, Roy Larkin Parks and wife, Elizabeth Brinegar Parks of Wilkesboro; grandchildren, Perry Pearson Parks, Jr., Staley Elizabeth Parks, LarkAnn Louise Parks, Priscilla Ann Parks, Jason Randall Neal, Jake Tristan Neal, Jaron Paul Neal; great-grandchildren, Parks Foster Neal, Kieran David Neal, and Larin Elizabeth Neal. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 4, 2016 at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
