Patricia “Pat” Ann Trotter McDowell, 91, of Asheboro, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 11, 2025, at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.
Visitation will be held at Ridge Funeral Home from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 16th. A graveside service will follow the visitation at 2:00 p.m. at Randolph Memorial Park, in Asheboro, with Pastor Lonnie Pittman officiating.
Born on May 13, 1933, in Randolph County, NC, Pat was the daughter of the late Clifford and Mary Trotter and one of eleven brothers and sisters. She retired from Bost Neckwear after twenty years of sewing and finishing ties.
After retiring, Pat enjoyed a wonderful life with her husband, Gene, and her daughter Wanda’s family. Her son-in-law, Donald, is kind and regularly takes care of her yard work. She felt proud of the mother Wanda became and kept a watchful eye on her grandson, Garret, as he grew up, found success in his career, married, and became a father. The time she spent with him was always special, and nothing made her light up quite like a visit from her great-grandsons, Sam and “Charlie.” She loved hearing stories, laughed at their antics, and never let them leave without a treat in hand.
Later in life, Pat loved sitting on the front porch, watching the birds and flowers in the summer heat. She treasured outings with her sister Bonnie, whether it was a trip to the hairdresser or a shopping day together.
In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by nine of her siblings. She is survived by her youngest sister, Bonnie Davis; grandson, Garret Parker; his wife, Ellie Swiers Parker of Asheboro; and great-grandsons, Sam Parker and Charles Parker.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph, 416 Vision Drive, Asheboro, NC 27203.
