Oteia Craven Hill, 77, of Asheboro, died Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 11, 2015, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Adams and Rev. Troy Wilhelm officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. A native of Randolph County, Mrs. Hill was born June 7, 1938 to the late Roe and Elizabeth Craven. She was retired from National Geographic, where she worked as a administrative assistant. Mrs. Hill was a member of Rushwood Church and sang in the choir. She was a preschool teacher and a Brownie leader. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Garfield Hill and her brother, Wilton Craven. She is survived by her daughter, Janice Kay Hill-Bonds of Honduras; son, David "Alex" Hill and wife, Melinda of Marietta, GA; brother, Rev. Avon Craven and wife, Donna of Asheboro; grandsons, Josh and Ethan; step grandsons, Nathan and David; great-grandchildren, Connor, Makenna; and step great-grandchild, MacKenzie. She is also survived by her canine compantion, Bella. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Ridge Funeral Home.
