Ora Yates Ridge

March 24, 1925 — May 15, 2010

Mrs.Ora Yates Ridge, of Old NC Hwy 49, Asheboro, died Saturday, May 15, 2010, at Randolph Hospital after a brief illness. Graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at Hoover's Grove Wesleyan Church Cemetery with the Rev. Jamie Draughn officiating. Born on March 24, 1925, in Randolph County, Mrs. Ridge was the daughter of the late Marvin and Cora Trotter Yates. She was retired from Donna Lee Loflin Elementary School. She was an avid reader and she enjoyed bird watching, gardening and knitting. Mrs. Ridge was preceded in death by her husband, David Edmund Ridge. Surviving are her daughters, Judy Cranford and husband, Roy, of Denton, Linda Bayse and husband, Donald, of Hendersonville; brother, Robert M. Yates, of Asheboro; stepdaughters, Reba Owens, of Asheboro, Helen Garner and husband, Donald, of Asheboro; stepson, Bill Ridge and wife, Edith, of Asheboro; grandchildren, Andrew Cranford, of Los Angeles, CA, Joseph Bayse and wife, Amy; of Charlotte, Christy Goodson and husband, Chris, of Hendersonville, Stanley Asher and wife, Delinda, of Icard; and five great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home from 12:30 until 1:30 pm Tuesday, May 18, 2010.
