Opal Crouch Saunders

Mrs. Opal Crouch Saunders, 84, of Asheboro, NC, died Thursday, February 20, 2014, at Carillon Assisted Living. A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am Monday, February 24, 2014, at Balfour Baptist Church, where she was a member, with Rev. Kenneth Reaves officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro. A native of Bath County, KY, Mrs. Saunders was born December 28, 1929. She was the daughter of the late Charlie Thompson Crouch and Ida Patton Crouch. Mrs. Saunders was retired from Piedmont Electric Motor. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tracy Lee Saunders. Mrs. Saunders is survived by son, Thomas M. Saunders and wife, Sue Wallace Saunders, of Franklinville, NC; sisters, Berti Hood, of KY, Irene Mastiller, of AZ; brothers, Hertsell Crouch, of , MI, Tom Ray Crouch, of KY, grandsons, Thomas Scott Saunders, of Franklinville, NC, Mark Edward Saunders and wife, Marcia, of King, NC; and great granddaughters, Julianne Saunders and Natalie Saunders. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Sunday, February 23, 2014, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home of the son, 167 Wallace Street, Franklinville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Balfour Baptist Church, 1642 North Fayetteville Street, Asheboro, NC 27203.
