Odis Allen Hunt, 84, of Asheboro, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2025, at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.
A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Sunday, April 13, 2025, at Bethel Baptist Church, Asheboro. with Dr. Jody Harrison, Assistant Pastor Brian Cole, and Pastor Claudie Harrison, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Odis was born on September 5, 1940, in Randolph Co., the son of the late Emory Allen Hunt and Sadie Manns Hunt. Odis loved the outdoors, he would go hunting, fishing and he loved to mow his yard. Odis was an avid Carolina Panthers fan. He will be remembered for his favorite saying "If I go, or if I stay, I'm a winner either way."
In addition to his parents, Odis was preceded in death by his son, Roy Allen Hunt, Sr.; brothers, Roy Hunt, Ralph Hunt, Raymond Hunt; sisters, Evelene Hunt, and Brenda Gatlin.
Odis is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patsy Hunt; daughters, Jennifer Howell (Chad), Donna Daughtry (Richard); sisters, Ruth Hunt, Ruby Priddy; brother, Mack Hunt (Arlene); grandchildren, Roy Hunt, Jr. (Ashley), Logan Howell, Benjamin Daughtry, and Lauren Daughtry.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m., at the church prior to the service.
