Norman R. Balfour

Mr. Norman Ray Balfour, 76, of Randleman, NC, died Saturday, December 1, 2012, at his residence. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at St. Peter United Methodist Church with Rev. Liston Sellers officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro. Military honors will be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mr. Balfour was born November 10, 1936. He attended Central High School in Asheboro and studied small engines at Randolph Community College. He had retired from Klaussner Furniture and had served in the US Army. Mr. Balfour was a member of St. Peter United Methodist Church and was an active member of the United Methodist Men. He enjoyed repairing lawn mowers as a shade tree mechanic. Mr. Balfour was preceded in death by his father, Walter Balfour, brothers, Clifford McComb and Roger McComb, and sister, Margaret Chestnutt. Mr. Balfour is survived by his wife, Phyllis Balfour, of the home; son, Gregory Balfour and wife, Patricia, of Randleman, NC; mother, Florence McComb, of Randleman; father-in-law, Phillip Belo, of Randleman, NC; granddaughters, Shatara Cross, Akia Balfour, both of Randleman, NC; brothers, Walter McComb, of Omaha, NE, Gary McComb, of Greensboro, NC; sisters, Peggy Manigault, of Greensboro, NC, Linda Allen, of Philadelphia, PA, Jane Goins, of Randleman, NC; and a host of brothers "�in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and godchildren. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at St. Peter United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Randolph, PO Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204.
