Neil D. Meisch

Neil D. Meisch, Sr., 86, of Asheboro, died Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Randolph Health and Rehabilitation Center in Asheboro. Memorial services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, March 27, 2016, at Center Cross Baptist Church with Pastor Grant Hoffman officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church. Born January 30, 1930 in Rochester, NY, Mr. Meisch was the son of the late William and Bertha Meisch, one of seven children born in a German household. He loved gardening, and was an avid reader all of his life. He never lost his desire for knowledge, as he read two newspapers daily as well as Time, US World Report, Newsweek and National Geographic. Mr. Meisch was also an outstanding cook. Mr. Meisch is survived by his wife, Bonnie Ervalene Fair Meisch of the home; daughter, Deborah Knapp and husband, John of Asheboro; sons, Neil D. Meisch, Jr. and wife, Jeanne of Asheboro, Gareth Meisch and wife, Patti of Asheboro; brother, Douglas Meisch of Newark, NY; grandchildren, Daniel Meisch, Robbie Knapp, Sara Allred, Heather Meisch, Tyler Meisch; and six great-grandchildren.
