Nathan A. Burkholder

Mr. Nathan Adam Burkholder, Jr., 75, of Asheboro, NC, died Wednesday, August 24, 2011, at Randolph Hospital. A memorial service will be held at a later date. A native of Lynchburg VA, Mr. Burkholder was born January 15, 1936. He was the son of Jessie Crickenberger Burkholder and the late Nathan Adam Burkholder Sr. He was a member of the American Legion, National Rifle Association, and Fayetteville Street Baptist Church. In addition to his father Mr. Burkholder was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Cross Burkholder, and daughter, Shelia Lucas. Mr. Burkholder served in the US Marines. Mr. Burkholder, in addition to his mother, is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Jenkins, of Greenville, NC, Doreen Burkholder, of Asheboro, NC; sons, Nathan Burkholder III, of Asheboro, NC, Jeffery Burkholder and wife, Angela, of Asheboro, NC, Hugh Burkholder and wife, Sonya, of High Point, NC; sister, Jean Lastinger, of Hampton, VA; 13 Grandchildren; 11 Great Grandchildren.
